Your rights over your data
Under the GDPR you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict or object to our processing of it; receive your data in a portable format; and withdraw any consent you have given at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email thomas@securityjobsireland.ie and we will respond within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission at www.dataprotection.ie.
Public visibility of candidate profiles
Candidate profiles on Security Jobs Ireland are publicly visible, in the same way as professional profiles on networks such as LinkedIn. This includes your name, photo (if uploaded), professional summary, work categories, county and licence status. Your contact details, date of birth and CV are not public: contact information is released only to an employer whose job you apply to, and licence numbers are automatically masked on public pages. You can edit or remove any part of your profile at any time from your account, or ask us to delete your profile entirely.
Please do not include sensitive personal information (for example health, religious, or financial details) in your profile, CV, or job applications — it is not required for any role on this platform.
How long we keep your data
We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account is active, and delete it on request. CVs remain stored while attached to your profile and can be removed or replaced by you at any time. When you apply for a job, your application is delivered to that employer, who then holds it under their own privacy policy. Job alert and newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe (every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link). Routine server logs and backups are retained for short periods for security and recovery purposes.
International transfers
Most of our systems are hosted within the EU. Some service providers we use — including our email delivery service, our customer chat service, and an AI text-improvement service (used only when you choose the optional “Improve with AI” feature on your own CV text) — may process limited data outside the EU/EEA. Where this happens, transfers are protected by GDPR safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, and we share only the minimum data each service needs.
